New Campaign Launched to Improve Health Care Through Better Conversations

Research shows that people often don’t take their medications or change their lifestyles after after visiting a doctor or a nurse, while only about 60 per cent of people feel they are sufficiently involved in decisions about their care. A campaign is being launched to tackle this issue and improve the way in which health professionals and people talk.

Shared Learning Workshops with National Voices and Macc

National Voices’ Wellbeing Our Way programme and Macc are hosting two Greater Manchester POW WOWs (shared learning workshops) bringing together people working in charities, wider health and care organisations, and those with lived experience to develop approaches which enable people to live well. C4CC at NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo 2015

The Coalition for Collaborative Care will have a strong presence at this year’s NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo 2015. We are involved in two sessions, focused on creating a better deal for people with long-term conditions and we have a stand (number seven), where people can come and learn more about the work we are currently doing, our plans for the future, and how they can help.

New care and support planning resources available

Today, the Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) Partnership publishes new advice for councils on meeting Care Act 2014 requirements to ensure people lead the development of their own care and support plans.  This complements the care and support planning animation published by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) on Friday and the Coalition for Collaborative Care/NHS England handbook to be published later this week.
